ASTM A312 TP316 Seamless Stainless Steel Pipes Supplier & Exporter in India

ASTM A312 TP316 Seamless Pipes are molybdenum-bearing austenitic stainless steel pipes offering superior corrosion resistance, especially in chloride and marine environments.

Product Overview – ASTM SS A312 TP316 Seamless Pipes

ASTM A312 TP316 is an austenitic stainless steel grade containing 16–18% chromium, 10–14% nickel, and 2–3% molybdenum. The addition of molybdenum significantly improves resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride environments. SS 316 seamless pipes are widely used in marine, chemical, pharmaceutical, food processing, and offshore industries where corrosion resistance is critical.

Seamless construction ensures high pressure capability and uniform strength for demanding applications.

Frequently Asked Questions

– ASTM A312 TP316 Seamless Pipes

What is ASTM A312 TP316?
TP316 is a molybdenum-bearing austenitic stainless steel seamless pipe grade offering enhanced corrosion resistance compared to 304.
What is the difference between SS 304 and SS 316?
Yes. SS 316 is widely used in marine and coastal environments due to its resistance to saltwater corrosion.
Is ASTM A312 TP316 Seamless Pipe suitable for marine applications?
For elevated temperature pressure service, TP310H is generally preferred because of its higher carbon content and improved creep resistance.
What industries use TP316 seamless pipes?
Chemical processing, oil & gas, pharmaceutical, marine, and food processing industries commonly use TP316 pipes.
Is A312 TP316 Seamless Pipe resistant to chloride corrosion?
Yes, it offers improved resistance compared to SS 304, but prolonged exposure to high chloride concentration may still cause pitting.
