Product Overview – ASTM A312 TP317L Welded Pipes
ASTM A312 TP317L is the low carbon version of 317 stainless steel with enhanced molybdenum content. The combination of low carbon and high molybdenum provides improved resistance against intergranular corrosion and localized chemical attack.
TP317L welded pipes are manufactured using precision strip forming and longitudinal ERW welding, followed by solution annealing and inspection as per ASTM A312 standards.
This grade is widely specified for chemical processing plants, petrochemical refineries, fertilizer industries, and acid transfer systems where 316L may not provide sufficient corrosion resistance.
Compared to 316L, TP317L offers higher pitting resistance and better durability in aggressive acidic environments.
